Bowling murdered......

Not a very good day at college.

Finally a good thing called blogging. Writing from the textbook section of MIT.

The match between KKR and MI looked more like a charity match. Sachin and Jayasuriya practicaly murdered the KKR attack. Flaunting their grit and power, they were at their self best. 111 in 10 overs with no loss says it all.

Both the openers taking the KKR bowlers for a ride where each one of them had pledged not to make single error. Brendon was finding no one next in line for the bowling but Shukla chipped in which saved a world record against KKR,or else it would have been the highest total in IPL which would have been difficult for Sachin n Jayasuriya themselves to break.

Shahrukh Khan should rethink his decisions in the recent past if he has to make any sense out of this IPL. There is one big difference between Buchanan with team Australia and with team KKR. Buchanan @Australia was kept silent and was made to focus only the game of cricket with the players but Buchanan@KKR has been a talking machine and more of a politician stressing on every nonsense things except cricket.

The blame goes to Mr. Shahrukh Khan who doesn't know to respect our national heroes.(yes, i am pointing towards Gavaskar), Buchanan is not comparable to Great Sunny when it comes to cricket nuances. Shahrukh should refrain from making such statements or else his own popularity will reduce to zero (the trend has already started). One thing which needs to be cleared out before Shahrukh that no matter how big is his stardom but when it comes to Sunny,Sachin or any other sportsperson(even Aakash Chopra),he can never stand at par with them because they are the real heroes. They don't sham. Their life is a story of hardship and intense struggle with a risk of getting nothing out of it.
Another point which needs to very clear before Sharukh that if he doesn't want any body to comment on his so called team, he should take the team to his home to play cause if u cant bear this, u are a no player at Public domain. Once you are on the public domain, U have to take the criticism in the right spirit.

I don't think Shahrukh has got any future in IPL if he carries over this attitude and false ego n pride of himself.

coming back to match , it was sad to see no counter attack and fight from KKR except some solidarity from Dada once again.

Nitin is expected to give the review of DD vs RR. RR won it, thanks to the man of the moment -Yusuf Pathan.

That's all for now. Signing off now. good night.

SACHIN GONE MUMBAI GONE??

It was said in the last century "Sachin hit toh India fit". It was a common trend then. If Sachin scored India would go on to win the game quite comfortably. However the trend reversed with the arrival of young guns like Yuvi, Mahi and others. But the match that we witnessed last evevning b/w Mumbai Indians and Deccan chargers clearly underlined the impact of sachin's presence in the middle. At the strategic time out the Mumbai team was well placed, Reason Sachin was firing all cylinders. And he lost momentum after the time out and threw away his wicket to young Ojha. And a middle order collapse followed. This Mumbai side is balanced but they need their sheet anchor to play thoroughout the innings. Even Sachin admitted that it was their plan to drop anchor if Jayasurya fell early. But they have a lot of positives to take from this match. Malinga was spot on with the new as well as the old ball. It seems as if this man has found the form of his life.Bravo looked in good touch. What Mumbai need the most are some good finishers. Nayar can be one, but he lacks the experience. If someone like Tendulkar or jayasurya Stands with him at the other end he can pull rabbits out his hat. As for Deccan chargers they deserve the win. As Gilchrist chuckled last evening they have already won as many matches they won in the whole of last season. Gibbs played a gorgeous knock. His inside out shot is a sight to watch. Ojha is learning from his mistakes and Sachin's wicket was the reward for the hard work he's putting in. R.P Singh should certainly nake it to the Indian team for the coming world cup. The team needs a bowler like him who can bowl consistently at death.

As for the match b/w KKR and CSK the lesser it is said the better it is. Capetown has becoome the local Cherapunji as soon as the IPL began. Both the teams have got difficult times ahead. The chargers are charging ahead the rest need to catch up fast!!!!

Yesterday's matches

kkr VS csK WASHED OUT. ANYONE GIVING UPDATES OF THE OTHER MATCH???
Mumbai Indians lost to Deccan Chargers.

More Inputs. Nitin expected......

DADA. KI KHOBOR?? wats going on??

it was one of those ramsay series..

Good afternoon
Half day in Class,so resorted to blogging!!!!!What a display of charisma and power by both the sides!!! Read Nitin's piece. Indeed Cricket should win.

Innings by Sourav n Yousuf hogged the limelight. Sourav again proved that he is a champ although he doesn't need 2 prove anything now.

Cricket was at its best last night. The concept of IPL is really breathtaking.

The find of this IPL is Kamran Khan. He is young lad with tremendous confidence more so after his captain trusted him. He is a very bright prospect for India.
KKR have to reassess their gameplan and team formulation if they have to go ahead. It makes no sense to have another Aakash Chopra(Sanjay Bangar) after removing one Aakash Chopra. Sanjay Bangar is no different. The match could have been easily won by KKR after Gayle n Sourav's knock but i tell you Bangar's innings cost KKR the match.

In a 20-20 cricket a minimum of 100 strike rate is a compulsion, or else be ready to face the consequences.

Earlier in the day, Delhi Daredevils continued their march like the Napolean's Army under their Napolean(Virender Sehwag). De villiers played an iconic inning to set the tone right. Nehra bowled superbly in the death overs and Nannes as well as vettori sealed the match. Much more to come. Lets see...

BEST DAY...

It is said that cricket is a game of uncertainities and T20 cricket makes this pronounced in the best possible way. Talking about thursday. This was perhaps the best day in IPL(including the 1st season). Two matches and what thrilling encounters. Both matches going down to the wire, infact one of them resulting in a tie!!!If the afternoon belonged to AB De Villiars, Nightshow was shared by Dada and pathan, after a steady bowling show by the Knighriders. AB De, as Mandira said on her show, made batting look like abcde!!! Talking of dada, he was simply awsome. Its really amazing, the way this man coducts himself. Thousand of controversies surrouding him still he delivers the best when out in the middle. As mentioned in one of my earlier post this IPL has been the hunting season for the oldies, so today was definately dada's day out!!! The concept of super over probably used for the first time in cricket was bizzaire. Division of points is certainly a better option. One positive for KKR from this match was the resurgence of Saurav Ganguly. The Royals have found a true slinger in kamran Khan. If Warne nurtures him properly(He certainly will), he will develop into a bright prospect for India in the near future.
Chennai were relly unlucky after losing the match from the position they were in at the half time(tactical break). It was heartening to see Delhi fight back. It was probably not Albie's day. Nothing he did went right. Wish him better luck in the future. All the teams have opened their account in the points table, with an exception of Punjab. Seeing the presnt condition its hard to predict the semi finalists. But one thing is certain. This is a no mercy game. Even slightest of errors may cost one a match. But whatever may be the case cricket should emerge as the true winner!!!

Million Dollar men...

Well, before the IPL season began there was much hype about the "millon dollar men" namely KP,Freddie and JP(0.95,dats almost a milion). But after almost almost half a dozen matches its almost a common feature that the most hyped about people rank down under the mates of "Mallaya's test team" of IPL-1. It has been soothing that the ongoing IPL has been a complete Indian show(baring a few instances). Sachin's steady show with Dravid's grit and Jumbo's jaggernaut lit up day 1,where as day 2 saw enthrilling performances by RP and Sehwag. True this IPL the bowlers do have something to cheer for. Last season it was a complete batsmen show with the bowlers being dealt ruthlessly by their eternal enemies-the batsmen. Its not the number of boundries or sixes that impresses the spectators, but a well fought match. Each match that goess down to the wire can be called as full 'paisa wasool'.
Coming back to the million dollar men, After KP's show tonight, it was hard to believe that this was the most sought man of the season 2. Such tame dismissal ! Freddie has shown signs of improvement and he will soon prove his worth. But he'll be available for only 2 weeks. That leaves him with limited chance. Duminy however may have a longer run. He is a promising young player and he should do well. Mumbai's match against Rajasthan getting washed out leaves him virtually untested. So testing times lie ahead of all these players. They have to rise upto the occasion, else KP may have to face the music this time around!!! And the season 3 may see a new captain for the Royal challengers...how about Praveen!!!!!!!!

Vintage Wines

The present IPL is witnessing some dramatic performances by the so called Old Brigade.
Sachin, Rahul, Sourav, Kumble have shown that when it comes to cricket, they have no parallels.

Sachin's crafty innings won the first match for Mumbai Indians against the CSK, Rahul and Kumble struck the chord right in their match against last time champs.

And yesterday Sourav played a pivotal role in the win for KKR against Kings XI, taking 2 vital wickets.

Kudos. keep rocking...

KKR win big

Kolkata Knight Riders made their presence felt in the tournament by having stroked an emphatic victory over Perky Preity's Punjab Kings XII,by nine wickets today evening at Durban.Though the match had to be concluded based on the D/L method it was nt short of entertainment and lived upto its expectations as both teams had lost their first match and were keen to draw first blood..Skipper McCullum having won the toss asked the Yuvrajs to bat first in what seemed to be a pitch which would assist the seamers coupled with the overcast conditions. The onus was on the KKR bowlers to get the breakthroughs.Ishant Sharma bowled a very tight & disciplined line to Ravi bopara and Karan Goel, who was clearly troubled by both Ishant and Dinda.Ishant finally got the better of him when a careless swish of his bat edged the ball to the slip cordon and Chris Gayle made no mistakes...Irfan Pathan being promoted higher up the order to accelerate the run rate, played his part really well, despatching the balls to the boundaries..Just when it seemed that the kings XI were running away with the match,it was upto Dada to put the brakes on the scoreboard..In a hurricane twist of tales,Ganguly scalped both the dangerous Irfan and Bopara both in his maiden over..Yuvraj Singh and Sangakara had come out on crucial phase and built up a steady partnership.yuvi however got deceived by a slower delivery by Henriques and soon after Sangakkara expired when he was run out by laxmi Shukla..A few lusty blows by Jayawardena during the slog overs ensured Kings Xi reached 158..
Chris Gayle and McCullum started the KKR innings rather cautiously with ones and twos only..It was only in the third over when Gayle decided to free his arms and lofted Abdulla for a massive six..His intentons were clear and then took the charge to Pathan, having blasted him all over the parks for a flury pf fours and sixes..McCullum too joined the brigade but couldnt last long as he edged a Malik delivery to Sangakkara..However this didnt actuallly help their cause because by that time Gayle was in a killing spree.Brad Hodge was happy playing second fiddle to the big man who was clearly enjoying the run feast..Te score board had soared upto 79-1 in just 7.2 overs when heavy rains lashed the entire Durham city, forcing play to be stopped...Later the match had been called off and KKR won By D/L method...KKR are definitely a relieved bunch of players now after it has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons..However, tehy are not being complacent as they have their next match against the last years champions RR,who have had a disastrous start to their campaigm this year....Meanwhile Punjab Kings XI have to fight it out and produce something spectacular if they are to win against a resilient RCB..
Signing off now...

Inclusion of Aakash Chopra???

I wonder why Shahrukh or Coach Buchanan(whoever has the say.) have included Aakash Chopra in a T-20 team.
He is out of even the Test team of national side & his fielding except one chance was very poor.

Apply your mind... think Khan...

Would like 2 know views of other authors on this..
